Beasts Of Goliad

           Goliad has many magical places within its boundaries. Each of the thirteen kingdoms holds a variety of wonder. Magical creatures that is not so ordinary although some are similar to earth’s animals. Some even have the ability to speak. Many of these creatures have supernatural or extraordinary abilities, but are sometimes merely bizarre in appearance or habits. Of course, there are the typical unicorns, dragons, centaurs, and Minotaur’s. 

Below are just a few beasts you will see roaming around Goliad....
4. Plumeyed Okapi
Plumeyed Okapi

Type: Fish

 

Description: has short vivid blue fur and has a body shaped by needles.  Its face resembles that of a gecko.  It has cloven hooves, a pair of bat-like wings, and a hard shell on its back.

 

DIET: In the water – algae and larvae. Out of the water small insects, they eat caterpillars, snails and spiders, a variety of fruits and vegetables

 

Habitat: Moss Bay

 

Uses: Venom oil can be extracted from the needles and smeared on an object and remains potent until touched

 

Defense: Coils within its shell when attacked

 

Abilities: If pricked, its needles release a venomous toxin

 

Earth equivalent: Lizard, porcupine, Tortoise

8. CORGELEPER

Type: Fish

 

Description:  It has a gelatinous head, large coral frill from here long, slender, hollow tentacles. These creatures have a wild cat body shape, fur that is marked from pale yellowish to dark golden with dark spots grouped in rosettes, webbed paws and a white underbelly

 

Defense: it can run up to speeds of 70mph, its gelatinous head releases poisonous toxins – if inhaled, death is eminent

 

Diet: On land can dissolve small prey to feed on, in the water prawns and bait fish, hairy guppy are its favorite

 

Habitat:  ability to adapt to a variety of habitats, which means it can survive on either land or water

 

Uses: its venom is used in dark magic

 

Earth equivalent:  Coral, Box jellyfish and leopard

55. THORNY LICHES
Thorny Liches

Type: insect

 

Description: Are entirely white with wingspan of eleven inches, short, curved and sharp mandibles, long spiny legs, its back covered in short spikes

 

Diet: feed on decaying wood

 

Habitat: Fields and gardens, woods, marshes, ponds or anywhere that has moist soil.

 

Uses: News delivery carrier.  Messengers for Thousand Whispers Mountain

 

Defense: Its stare causes paralysis long enough to deliver a poisonous bite

 

Abilities; their mandibles are able to snap pencils in half and cut into human flesh

 

Earth equivalent: Thysania Agrippina, Titanus giganteus

56. SAPPHIRE FIRM BUG

Type: insect

 

Description: Massive moth-like creatures with a twelve inch wingspan flicker over the waters.  Their wing tips appear to have human eyes Because of the wing patterns, they're also known as scorpion moths because of the tail of a scorpion.  

 

Diet: realm mist

 

Habitat: Realm of Oracle Dominion 

 

Uses: movement of memories

 

Defense: none

 

Abilities: able to restore memories to its owner

 

Earth equivalent: moth, scorpion

22. DHIAGRIFF
Dhiagriff

Type: animal

 

Description: a dragon-like reptile with huge wings, tortoise head with a n extra-large beak, with horns of a roebuck, red eyes, a beard like a tiger, shark-like teeth– a muscular body covered in scales, and powerful long legs with razor sharp claws - and the tail so long that it passed entirely around the body, over the head and between the legs, ending like a fish. Colors vary, most are tri-colored.

 

DIET: Can eat almost any kind of meat, including humans.

 

Habitat: wet, damp places,

 

Uses: Are mainly used as guardians for protection

 

Defense: Powerful bite and claws

 

Abilities: its saliva can be used as a paralyzing agent, if the victim escapes

 

Earth equivalent:  Griffin, Piasa, Ostrich, Temple dog

23.  CYHORM

Type: animal

 

Description: mask-like markings on the face, flat rubbery pig-like snout, and slender body – females reach twenty inches and males forty. Has legs of a tortoise, the foot-talons of a hawk, brown-yellow fur. A stinger at the end of its rope-like tail. 

 

Diet: They eat small animals and plants.

 

Habitat: On the western shores of Mount Thousand Whispers and the eastern shores of Sweetbrook. 

 

Uses: can be trained to attack.

 

Defense: Injects paralyzing agent to prey or enemy, can spout flames.

 

Abilities: To climb rock

 

Earth equivalent: raccoon, pig, tortoise, hawk, wasp

36.  MUDDY KOODOO
Muddy Koodoo

Type: bird

 

Description: Head of a frilled dragon, body shape of an owl with golden fur with dirty white stockings, sharp claws, brown eyes, and wings that feather back like a coat tail and under it a coiled tail.

 

Diet: Consists mainly of insects and occasional rodent.

 

Habitat: Found mainly in and around the Cave of Shirondor, crevasse's of Finch Stone Mountain. Is lazy but intelligent, likes hiding, sleeping and chasing things. It hates boredom, loud noises and water.

 

Uses: If caught, you will most likely find it on the menu at the Dragon's Lodge in Feather Knoll. Last it was served - steamed with mulberry tart and a glass of wine.

 

Defense: A powerful prehensile tail that packs a 

 

Abilities: it can grow webbed digits, scaly skin under water

 

Earth equivalent

37.  CROSSED LIZARD FINCH

Type: bird

 

Description: Its feathers are said to be the color of copper, has four huge, powerful wings, two long, strong legs, and a long, elegant tail, extra-long beak, and its face that of a gecko.

 

Diet: They're carnivores and their beaks and rough tongue are ideal for eating small insects.

 

Habitat: They live in open areas and are relatively rare.

 

Uses: News delivery carrier.  Messengers for Realm of Badgers

 

Defense: These creatures are very timid, but they'll defend their territory strongly.

 

Abilities: Have a wide range of sounds they make to indicate discoveries, dangers and otherwise communicate with each other.

 

Earth equivalent:  Gecko, Flamingo
